About
At its inception, Hidden Stars was a Montessori-based preschool. In 2016, we began with just two students. Following a Montessori curriculum taught the children and their parents that learning involves a lot more than reading and writing from assigned materials, which the child may or may not fully comprehend why he/she is required to do; learning extends far beyond these traditional factors. This set us on the path to becoming a primary school in 2020. We now have a full primary and pre-primary school with grades ranging from nursery to grade 5.
Learning takes place at Hidden Stars in an informal but not casual environment, allowing children to respond joyfully and creatively to learning. The children have the barest of restraints, and they are free to move around.
Learning is an essential part of every child's and adult's natural growth and development. Hidden Stars philosophy is based on holistic, child-centered, collaborative learning in a fun and free environment.
Hidden Stars' curriculum is designed with the ages, abilities, and interests of the children in each group in mind. Each group of children has its own set of learning objectives. The emphasis is on hands-on, experiential learning by doing and being.
Learning about different states of matter, for example, usually entails a trip to the school kitchen to conduct experiments with water—boiling and freezing it while learning about evaporation and condensation! Excursions and field trips are related to the subjects being covered in the classroom.
Our goal is to assist kids in gaining academic proficiency, emotional stability, and understanding of current social and developmental issues so they can grow up to be kind, responsible, and active members of society.
Children at Hidden Stars are inspired to be fearless, inquisitive, sympathetic, and tolerant of others' differences in culture, people, and abilities. Hidden Stars advocates for a non-competitive environment in all activities where learning is done for oneself rather than in comparison to the performance of others. Education Play School
